Sneak Preview: F&F SS16

Image
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to preview the F&F Spring/Summer collection in London. If you're a fairly frequent visitor to this blog you'll know that I'm a big fan of the F&F brand and have featured a fair few of their pieces in the past - so I was naturally curious about their latest collection. On a chilly, rainy November day in London, the collection was a breath of fresh air and has already got me thinking about my summer hols next year. The collection as a whole was heavily influenced by the idea of travel. The lookbook collection underpinned this by featuring linens and a nautical theme, interspersed with some corals, while the other collections all took inspiration from a different part of the globe (my favourite of which was 'Latin Rose'). Delicate fabrics with intricate florals and watercolour inspired designs were interspersed with slightly heavier fabrics which leant themselves to the ongoing trend for 70s nostalgia. The ...

Pretty Prints from the Past

As anyone who lives in the North-West (UK) will know, a girl's "Summer" wardrobe is usually reserved for holidays and that one weekend of unseasonable heat. But that's not been the case this summer and happily I've been able to debut a host of new outfits at work... I say 'new' but I've owned most of these things for a couple of years, the thing is they usually only come out of my wardrobe to go into a suitcase... The denim jacket came from Topshop  three years ago (just before I left London - when I was trying to blend back into the countryside way of life again!). The dress is another one of Tesco's finest from their F&F range and is a couple of years old. (Although I'm reliably informed by someone in the know that bird-prints are going to be the next big thing in textiles... so maybe this dress was just ahead of it's time?) But the bag has to be the best bit of this outfit. I've never seen another like it....

Hay Fever

I love this time of year. Even if we weren't having such lovely weather, the English countryside always looks at it's most beautiful in Summer. Specifically, the point just before they cut the hay - when the grass is lovely and tall like this. I took these pictures in a field near my house, the dress is an old favourite - one of 'Tesco's Finest' from their F&F range. It's pretty versatile - I wore it to work that day but it's great for spending time outdoors too (it goes well with wellies!) Waist Detail
